Air Pollution Control Can Be Done Through Fabric Dust Collectors, Sintered Element Dust Collectors

Fabric Dust Collectors

Commonly known as bag houses, dust collectors, pulse jet bag filters. Indpro’s fabric dust collectors use filtration to separate dust particulates from dusty gases. They have a feature of continuous operation with a built-in facility for automatic regeneration of filter elements. Today they are the most efficient and cost effective solution, capable of achieving emission levels as low as 5 mg/Nm3.

  • Inertial collection - Dust particles strike the fibers placed perpendicular to the gas-flow direction instead of changing direction with the gas stream.
  • Interception - Particles that do not cross the fluid streamlines come in contact with fibers because of the fiber size.
  • Brownian movement - Submicrometre particles are diffused, increasing the probability of contact between the particles and collecting surfaces.
  • Electrostatic forces - The presence of an electrostatic charge on the particles and the filter can increase dust capture.

A combination of these mechanisms results in formation of the dust cake on the filter, which eventually increases the resistance to gas flow. The filter must be cleaned periodically. Our dust collector uses pulse – jet or pressure – jet cleaning mechanism. This type of mechanism uses a high pressure jet of air (compressed air-induced pulse) to remove dust from the surface of bags. Bags in the bag house compartment are supported internally by rings or metal cages. Bags are held firmly in place at the top by clamps and usually have an enclosed bottom (the bag is sewn closed at the bottom). In another design, a snap ring is sewn into the top of the bag which fits into the tube sheet opening. The cage slides inside the bag and the top of the cage sits on the tube sheet. Dust-laden gas is filtered through the bag, depositing dust on the outside surface of the bag. Pulse-jet cleaning is used for cleaning bags in an exterior filtration system.

Dry Capturing of Wet Paint:


We were continuously looking at this application area to remove the use of wet scrubbers and cost consuming effluent treatment plants. Finally we are out with a specially designed process where we are able to capture the over sprays of wet paint from the booth.

A specially developed process protects the filter elements from contact with the paint by adding a filtration additive. This additive is inert, dry, pourable and low cost. A filter cake with only low pressure loss forms even after the filter element have been in use for many hours without being cleaned, and can be removed easily from our filter elements with compressed air using jet pulse process.

Another aspect which is becoming more and more important is to keep the booth air free of dust so as to able to guarantee the required uniform finish quality for the product. This means that the perfect co-ordination of the air within the paint booths provides a great deal of potential for reducing running costs. Advantages :

Welding Fumes Extraction:

Extraction of welding fumes is one of the most difficult applications as the dust contains sticky or oily dust and is difficult to separate. But here we have a solution for you and in order to safely remove this type of dust we insert protection layer of calcium carbonate onto the filter elements. This material is homogenously diffused across the filter element surface and protects the filter against damaging dust components.

Filtration Concept for Detergent Manufacturing:


In detergent manufacturing process dust is generated in various steps like transporting, screening, grading and filling. Dust components includes explosive mixture of zeolites, bleaching agents, surfactants, enzymes, dyestuffs and filler particles – must be extracted and recovered by filter unit and are then returned into the production process. For safety reasons preventive explosion protection is necessary for the total equipment in the process. The minimum floor space available for the filter unit at the planned location requires a compact construction of the filter system with a small footprint.

Filtration Concept for Chewing Gum Industry:


The process of manufacturing chewing gum consists of mixing many materials together, such as latex and sugars, creating a soft a chewy texture. The gum based (latex) is coarsely grinded into powder and mixed until uniform consistency, then dried. After drying, the gum base is cooked until melted in large kettle. Additional ingredients such as fine powdered sugar are stirred into kettles. Kneading the mass until the proper texture is done with large machines. Rolling onto a slab attains proper thickness. Prior to scoring, the gum is dusted with powdered sugar and broken into pieces, thus creating more dust. Some gums will be spray coated, and then tumbled to dry. Finally the gums are packaged. Furthermore, the cooking process may generate flammable material. The powdery substances account for dust around work areas and in the air. Proper filtering and ventilation will eliminate nearly all dust. This will better ensure safety for personnel and cleanliness of work areas, machines and the gum.
